Frontier Housing, Inc.
Spring 2023
Frontier Housing believes that everyone should have a safe, decent, and affordable place to live in the communities they love. Our goal is to make that happen in Central Appalachia by serving families and individuals with a wide variety of housing products, including new construction, repairs, rental units, and homeownership and credit counseling services. Frontier serves 16 counties in north-eastern Kentucky.
We are seeking a Donor Relations Officer to oversee our non-governmental fundraising efforts. This work will focus on raising funds from private donors, including individuals, companies, and foundations. We expect that the work the Donor Relations Officer performs will dramatically increase our capacity to build, renovate, and sell homes by providing additional funds from the private sector. The new Officer will have the opportunity to work with the CEO and Director of Resource Development to create a new program of donor solicitation and fund-raising. The Donor Relations Officer will bring new resources to the company, allowing Frontier to increase the scope of our work throughout our service area.
During the first year of employment the Donor Relations Officer will:
- Choose and implement a donor tracking and communication software package
- Work with others in the company to host at least one fundraising event
- Oversee several mailings to potential donors
- Raise $40,000 from individual donors
- Raise $20,000 from corporate donors
- Help to plan and execute a program of outreach to regional and national foundations
- Be an active planner and participant in Frontier’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration starting in March 2024
The successful candidate is likely to be a person who:
- Has excellent interpersonal skills
- Has at least 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising
- Possesses excellent computer skills, with experience in donor databases and mass communication
- Thrives by helping donors give to Frontier
- Is passionate about helping others
- Works well in a team environment
- Feels kinship with Appalachia
- Ideally communicates in both English and Spanish
- Has a driver’s license and reliable transportation
This position reports to the Director of Resource Development and requires some travel and evening and weekend work. We offer a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package. Our office is located in Morehead, KY. Partial remote work is a possibility – we prefer that candidates are able to spend time at different locations within our service area each week. Some travel, and some nights and weekends will be required.
