Morehead, KY – Frontier Housing celebrated the start of a multi-family, 40-unit apartment complex development in downtown Morehead with a groundbreaking ceremony.
Frontier was joined by its funding and construction partners, a mix of city, state and federal officials, and community members dedicated to the development of affordable, safe housing.
Park View Apartments, located at 340 Triplett Street across from the Sheltowee Trace Splash Pad, will offer convenient access to downtown amenities. Heuser Hearing Institute of Louisville will have space in the complex to provide services including diagnostics and assessments, as well as educational programs. These services will be provided to residents of Park View Apartments as well as members of the surrounding community.
Funding for the development was awarded through the Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) and the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits Program.
“We value our partnership with Housing Partnership, Inc. and Frontier Housing and want to congratulate them both,” said HOPE of the Midwest Finance Officer & Asset Manager Tammy Nichols. “It is an honor to participate in projects such as this that will provide affordable and sustainable homes for residents of this community.”
Other funders and partners include Kentucky Housing Corporation, Housing Partnerships, Inc., Housing Assistance Council, and Marble Cliff Capital.
Frontier President & CEO Tom Manning-Beavin said Park View Apartments was made possible by the collaboration between many. The energy-efficient housing complex will have one, two, and three-bedroom options.
Manning-Beavin said the units will address Morehead’s housing shortage, particularly for low-income families.
