FLOYD COUNTY, KY – Frontier Housing, Inc., city and county officials, and funding partners celebrated with Linda and Elbert Taylor of Eastern, KY, on June 5, 2024, with a ribbon cutting.
The gathering was a celebration of the Taylor’s new home – newly rebuilt as part of recovery efforts from devastating floods that hit four Eastern Kentucky counties in 2022. It was Frontier’s first flood recovery new construction project in Floyd County.
The Taylor’s home was completely flooded, and their property was submerged by the flood in July 2022.
Funding for the new home construction was provided by Team Kentucky, Farmers Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, the Peoples Bank Foundation, and grant funds Frontier Housing received from the CDFI Fund at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
