Frontier is seeking a position for Weatherization Crew Leader to assist and support the goals for the Weatherization program, working with the Weatherization Manager to coordinate daily operations ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. This position will include travel to Breathitt, Lee, Owsley, and Wolfe Counties.
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is the nation’s largest residential energy efficiency program. WAP enables low-income families to lower their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) received funding for WAP through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Goals for the position in the first year include:
- Instruct crew members on assignments of each job and supervise crew members
- Weatherize dwellings through installation of insulation, sealing, caulking, weather stripping, carbon monoxide & smoke detectors, roof repairs, installation of windows, and other minor repairs.
- Package grant and loan applications to funders on behalf of customers, working as necessary with Lending staff.
- Work with other team members to ensure quality installation of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).
- Use problem-solving skills to analyze existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Previous leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Technical & mathematical skill
- Basic carpentry skills
- Good recordkeeping skills
The Weatherization Crew Leader will report directly to the Director of Construction. In addition, the successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout Frontier Housing’s service area, travel for training and have a valid driver’s license.
